Throughout her travels over the last few years, Dargan has come to understand just how deeply her surroundings shape her work. The distinct identity, emotional weight, and character a place holds for her is what creates a sense of place—and those connections are where her ideas take form. Connections she feels an instant urge to visualize.

In this collection of abstracted landscapes, color and form are only part of the story. Working from photo references and memory, Dargan builds compositions rooted in real locations while leaving room for something less fixed: a sense of place that may be known, or entirely imagined.
